WHY IT’S RAD!
Gear driven, DOHC, and 18,000 RPM redline.
No, this isn’t a listing for a late 80’s F1 car. The 1988 CBR250R J (MC19) presented here however, is a mechanical marvel hailing from the “Golden Age” of Honda sportbikes before the Japanese government stepped in to regulate power and speed.
This Japanese market only model features an aluminum frame, “MC14” inline-4, four-stroke 250cc engine making it’s peak 45hp metric at ~15,000RPM. The engine features four individual Keihin carburetors and is said to start right up and idle smoothly. The bike is also said to run well with all electronics in working order.
The original plastic fairing and graphics (package NH193P No. 9) show well with minimal wear and no visible cracking or damage. Tires show negligible wear and sport a 2017 date code.
The odometer shows 24,204 km’s (approx.15,040 miles) and is said to be all original with the exception of a power-port affixed to right-side fairing.
Imported from Japan in 2020 by the well known JDM importer SODO Moto, it receive a general inspection and fuel flush/refill upon arrival and is available now in turn-key condition with a clear Washington title.
