1993 BMW 525i Touring

Sold for: $2700
Total Bids: 2

The RADwood Era was good for wagons. Long before the crossover SUV craze, useful and sometimes sporting station wagons still remained an option at almost every dealership in the ‘80s and ‘90s. The E34 (BMW’s internal designation for this model of 5-series) began in 1987, and in 1992 this Touring body style was introduced amounting to what could be considered the most utilitarian BMW ever sold up to that point. Consider this: the E34 Touring (or ‘T’) was the largest cargo-carrying model on offer from BMW at the time. One could follow the lineage from these RADwood 5-Series wagons all the way to the current X5M or even the mighty Alpina XB7.

This is an M50 2.5 liter, inline 6-cylinder, VANOS-equipped model with an automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive. Finished in Kashmir Beige (Cashmere) over what appears to be Parchment leather interior with wood trim. Maintenance over the past 10k miles is said to include VANOS rebuild and replacement of the following: radiator and water pump, valve cover gasket, spark plugs, tires and more. Prior history is unknown but it is reported to be a 3-owner, clean-titled Washington state car with an operational heater and cold A/C. The working odometer shows 164k miles.

Overall this 525i Touring remains largely stock and the paint shows well with no reports of accidents or body work. Wear consistent with age is present and consists of scuffs to bumpers, minor dings, aged door handle seals and light scratches in places. Some rust is present on the muffler (photo), the rear wiper arm is bent and requires replacement and the radiator fan shroud is missing. Aftermarket window tint is shown in photos as is a modern stereo and speakers. Later 15” BMW basketweave wheels and E34 projector headlights are fitted as well.

Videos can be found here: walk around and drivingpower window operation as well as engine running and under car

The seller completed an oil service recently and they have been using the wagon regularly and reports the engine runs well and the transmission shifts smoothly.

This BMW 525i Touring is offered at no reserve and would be welcome at the next RADwood.
