WHY IT’S RAD!
The 4th gen Honda Civic is renowned for its spacious interior, despite its compact dimensions, excellent visibility, great ride quality and handling due to a fully independent double wishbone suspension at all four corners. That latter point combined with the fact that they are very easy to “hot rod” with more powerful Honda components, makes it very difficult to find an all original, unmodified example.
The 1990 Honda Civic DX hatchback offered here is one of these rare examples. This 3 owner example has been a Connecticut car since new. The seller purchased it February of 2019 and has used it as his main mode of transportation since. The included CarFax report shows 40 service records and 54 detailed records available, however records are sparse and the seller has performed most maintenance himself during his ownership.

The 4cyl 1.5L is said to operate well with no known issues except for an occasional idle drop when hard on the brakes. The 4-speed automatic transmission is said to shift well with no slipping or bucking.
This being a DX model, it is equipped with a rear wiper, A/C, power steering, intermittent wipers, and tilt steering wheel. All of which are said to be functional. DX’s also received a rear cargo cover which is present in this example.
Carfax does indicate an odometer inconsistency back in 2004 which a ~2,000 mile discrepancy. 75,870 miles on 4/30/2004, and then 73,053 miles on 10/07/2004.
The owner also reports he had rust repaired in the rear wheel arches with new, replacement arches. The area appears to have been repaired to a high standard from the photos provided. There are small dings, chips, and scratches throughout, which are highlighted in the photo gallery.
The interior appears to be in good, original condition with no tears or excessive bolster wear which is typical of this generation of Honda Civics. Amazingly, the original head unit is still in place. The dash is stated to be crack free and the original floor mats are in place.
The car is sold with a clean Connecticut title, two keys, original owner’s manual and Haynes repair manual.
We’re big fans of these at RADwood and this preserved gem would be gladly accepted at any RADwood event.
