In 1985 Cadillac introduced the sixth generation Sedan de Ville and switched to GM’s new FWD platform known as the C-Body. These new cars were advertised as the “Cadillac of Tomorrow” and overall they had a smaller footprint but kept the same interior space as their predecessors. While the other C-body cars were powered by a V6 in 1991, the Cadillac was the only one offered with 8-cylinders; the 200hp, 4.9 liter V8.

This Sedan de Ville was purchased by the seller in February 2020 and had remained in the same California family care for 29 years prior to that. It is garaged and sparingly used by the seller’s elderly father contributing to the low 39k miles on the functional odometer.

Overall the vehicle is in extremely nice condition and appears nearly factory fresh. The dark red paint (believed to be Carmine Red) shows very well as does the matching red interior. The power leather seats look quite comfortable and only minor creasing can be found on the driver's seat. Custom matching leather rear seat organizers have been added. Dash mats, both front and rear, and all-weather floor mats are also present. The factory stereo with cassette player (and original speakers) remains.

Factory 15” alloy wheels present nicely with some blemishes (shown in photos) and wear Fisk Classic all-season tires with a thin white wall. Chrome accents and original glass all appear very nice, as do emblems and badges.

The seller reports the vehicle has been meticulously maintained and recent service includes a full A/C refresh with conversion to R134a. Mechanical work includes water pump and thermostat replacement, transmission service, radiator flush and new coolant. Additionally, coolant hoses and drive belts have been replaced along with new P/S hoses with fluid flushed. A recent oil service has also been completed.

The vehicle is currently located in Las Vegas, NV., but has current California registration, a recent CA smog certificate and a clean CARFAX report. Original manual booklet and two sets of keys are included as well.

This Cadillac presents as an excellent example of the Cadillac of Tomorrow and the last of the cast iron V8’s. These Sedan de Ville’s are now being appreciated for their place in Cadillac history, especially low mileage examples as found here.
