The Milano was a sports sedan for those who wanted to stand out from the crowd of E30 owners, for enthusiasts who desired a GTV6 in relatively low-key, four-door clothing, for drivers with an ear for the music of a Busso V6, and the inclination to play it like a piano with a buttery-slick rear-mounted 5-speed transaxle.

Most went for the more attainable 2.5-liter car, those with the scratch stretched for a 3.0 Quadrifoglio Verde with factory Recaros, Speedline wheels, body kit, and limited slip diff. Compared to the Bimmer, there weren’t many takers for either, and today serviceable examples of either spec are virtual automotive unicorns.

Not only is this particular example a QV, it’s also likely one of the nicest to be found anywhere, boasting full originality, extensive documentation dating back to the early 1990s, complete factory luggage and extraordinarily well preserved cosmetics outside, inside and underneath the hood. Though a small handful of thoughtful, high-quality modifications have been carried out, they’re all easily reversible thanks to inclusion of all original OEM parts.

The seller describes the car as, “an investment-grade Milano QV with very good cosmetics including excellent headlight/fog/tail light lenses, perfect door, trunk and hood closure, and excellent panel gaps all around. There’s no history or evidence of accidents or rust. All glass is original bronze-tinted with correct, matching manufacturer ID markings and decals still attached.”

Inside, the cabin retains original QV-spec Recaro seats, a crack-free dash, crystal-clear gauges, a fade-free parcel package behind the rear seats, and unmarked headliner, center console and door trim panels. Carpets display no discernable wear, and three different stereo head units are included; the currently-fitted Blaupunkt Bremen SQR46 DAB unit (a faithful recreation of the RAD Era classic SQR46 but with added Bluetooth and USB functionality) and the original factory Alfa-branded deck. A new, correct black electric antenna has recently been fitted, retaining the rare original Alfa-branded bezel.

The engine bay is exceptionally clean with all factory decals in place, presenting the jewel-like Busso in a proper setting. Mechanicals are described as fully sorted, and the seller adds that the car needs nothing to be enjoyed immediately. The list of work completed in the past ~10k miles and ~18 months is extensive, including (but not limited to):

  • A new clutch (friction plate, pressure plate, carrier bearings, resurfaced flywheel)

  • All new driveshaft giubos & center support bearing

  • New adjustable Koni shocks

  • New wheel bearings

  • New transaxle mounts, oil and stub axle seals

  • R134a-converted A/C (blows ice-cold)

  • Fully serviced shift linkage (important, as new these cars set the standard for shift feel)

  • New head gaskets, timing belt and tensioner

  • New cam cover gaskets

  • Valves adjusted

  • New radiator, thermostat and fan switch

  • New O2 sensor, adjusted timing, mixture and idle

  • New brake pads and rotors, stainless braided steel brake lines and fresh tires at all 4 corners

Mods include an Alfaholics “Fast Road” handling kit (thicker front sway bar, stiffer rear springs), +27mm front torsion bars and adjustable Konis behind original and near-flawless QV-spec Speedline wheels at each corner. The seller says, “the (factory) ARC computer likes to do the Italian Disco when it’s cold and is currently illuminating the coolant level light due to an incorrect sensor that was included with the new tank.

Sale includes original factory luggage, factory torsion bars, an additional factory center console, aforementioned head units, a spare factory grille, an Alfa Romeo dealership sign, an an extra factory shift knob, a spare fuel pump relay, an extra (Euro spec) ARC computer, extensive maintenance history dating back 30+ years, as well as all factory manuals, booklets and tools. The car is fully functional, including all electrical and mechanical components.
