WHY IT’S RAD!
In the 1980's, Chevrolet gave some of its cars a "Euro" treatment, granting its buyers a measure of European styling while maintaining the affordability that Chevrolet was generally known for.
In 1990, Chevy integrated this treatment into a trim line of their brand new W-body car, the Lumina. Styling cues that differentiated these Euro’s from the standard Lumina included a sport-styled steering wheel, unique body cladding with red “pinstripe” and 15” alloy wheels. This example is a low-mileage 1991 model, with a Deep Sapphire Blue interior that harkens back to a day when "beige" and "gray" were far from the only options.
Under the hood is a 60-degree LH0 pushrod V6, producing 140 horsepower, but possibly more noteworthy is the very distinct and familiar GM engine note. The 3-speed TH125C transmission continues to shift smoothly as well.
Passenger space- both front and rear, was exemplary for a mid-size car, and nearly comparable to some full-size models of the era, and offering a center front seat belt for a 6th passenger. Trunk space was also ample as well, handling a week's luggage for the whole family.
This Lumina was sold new in Shoreline, Washington and has always remained in the PNW. The seller acquired it from a charity sale which includes a Washington State Patrol inspection sticker but the title remains clean and unbranded.
Photos show some paint defects and there is a scratch to the drivers side mirror housing. The interior shows very well but the headliner is sagging near the rear window and the dash is beginning to warp, also shown in photos.
In 2017 an extensive service was performed including replacement of the water pump gasket, oil pan gasket, intake manifold gasket, transmission service and more.
Recent service includes battery replacement, spark plugs and wires, IACV, serpentine belt, motor mounts, thermostat and radiator hoses, as well as an oil service. The seller reports the vehicle runs and drives very well. The working odometer shows just 82k miles.
This Lumina Euro is a well running and preserved example of a vehicle that GM sold by the hundreds of thousands, but which few remain.
